Signs

"Signs"

For IllustrationFriday.com. More Dead Presidents. Yes, that's a real quote from Abraham Lincoln. As the U.S. battles terrorism, there has been a tendency to trade freedom and rights for safety. That's what this image is about.

I promise to be less political in posts to come.

Are you kidding! These political ones are fab! So is the "Man Eater"-- did your wife ever hit you over the head? Think your work is innovative!

Freakin' awesome! I wish I had money, I'd totally buy that one. In fact, there's an author who would probably LOVE to buy this. Sarah Vowell (author of Assassination Vacation is very big on Lincoln.

Make more Lincolns, these really are great.

I love that you portrayed Washington as the little buddy standing behind Lincoln with his back.

Be as political as you like. Or don't. Do whatever you want.
It's not as if I can sack you is it?
That's the nice thing about a blog. Do what you like.
Creative freedom will end once you start getting paid to be creative.

Excellent stuff.

I like political...especially with a hard edge slant.

don't be hesitant to do more. I like it a lot.

I think I prefer the version in which Washington's sign says "Yeah, what he said." But I get the idea with the difference in sign sizes.

Thanks for the comments!

And alright, if I feel the urge and have something to say, I'll say it. Thanks the encouragement.

I like the juxtaposition with the Old and New speach coming from the old presidents on new money... add that with the wire bodies, etc, and the utter ridiculousness makes it brilliant! Thanks for sharing all your work!
