America is asking for change

"To stand up for these Americans, I don’t want to settle for anything less than real change, fundamental change – change we need – change that we can believe in." Barack Obama

"This is a message of change that will sweep across this country." John Edwards

"The challenges of change are always hard." Hillary Clinton

"Change is coming." John McCain

"If ever there's been a time we needed change in Washington, it's now." Mitt Romney

Fantastic! I've loved your work since I found it on Boing Boing, but this one had me laughing out loud.

Well played!

Terry, you're amazing. Just absolutely amazing. What a fabulous political cartoon!

Thanks all. I was actually a little bit scared when I posted this. I never know what people are going to enjoy or take away from my images.

I'm glad for the comments. Thanks again!!

oo look at jasmine's picture there. i'm off to her blog next.

as for america asking for change we all go though hard times. you get a credit card to pay off your old card. You only pay off the minimum though and before you know it you need a loan to square away all your debts. then you invade iraq.
we've all done it.

just went to look at Jasmine's blog and it's something to do with computers.
what a tease!

Ugh, Christ. More bananas please.

It's funny. But it's sad because it's true.

I don't know whether to be deeply disturbed, or chuckle in amusement...

heh.

After all the fruit pictures, I was sort of expecting to see a rotten banana as evidence of change, but as usual your imagination is much better than mine and that's why I love this site. Both funny and poignant. Great!

You can take away a lot of things from this picture and the sad part is it's pretty accurate. We are becoming the beggar.

Wonderful!!!

Terry, what are the nations made of? Did you buy country cut-outs, or are they from scratch?

-kristen

Terry said...

Kristen- They're made of polymer clay (Fimo,Sculpey). This is one of the few times that I haven't used objects that already exist (which I much prefer). I flattened the clay out and used an x-acto knife to cut them out.

Thanks!

Laughed out loud! OMG! The set up was perfect. Who wouldn't find that funny?

BRILLIANT! I laughed out loud and had to share this pic with my parents. Ah, and it's so true....

I'm printing out a copy for my action figures and dolls to use as a poster eventually. It's just too cute. XD Is it okay if it appears in the background of one of my photocomics, should the sets and layout happen that way? (It'll be credited, of course....)

Amen, brother! It's a sad state of affairs that we're in now, and it's only getting worse. I do live in Michigan though.

I'm voting for Ralph(Wiggum)/Terry in '08!

Hehe, that's great. You are so very clever Terry. I check on your blog time to time and you never cease to make me laugh, or at least think about the messages you are projecting. I really liked this one, the quotes alongside were integral. I think it’s amazing that one simple ironic picture can tell such a story.

you should consider selling prints of this stuff.

Great as always... I thought these were children's toys / puzzle pieces. Your artistry is amazing...

I am sad to see no quote from Ron Paul, especially if you want to talk about someone who is really asking for change in the US.....

Noah D said...

Meh. Political and (especially) economic ignorance I can get anywhere. Your talent is wasted on this dreck.

Adam said...

I just came to your site via the sneeze and I really like it! Very clever and the art is awesome!

Paulina said...

hey there,
I was just thinking - why did you choose green for the US? Why not blue, or some combination of red white and blue?
Cheers,
P

Brilliant!

I've added a link to your site in my "favorite links" section of the sidebar on my own blog. I adore your work!

Terry said...

Thank for the comments all!!

To answer Paulinas' question- Blue was an option, but then I thought I'd have to add some red and white, and it would be hard to have it look good, and not tie-dyed or something. I'm no fimo expert.

I don't know if you will see comments on months old post, but I would buy one of these tshirts from your cafepress store if the image would transfer to tshirt nicely.
