Wow, this is the epitome of how I feel sometimes (hors d'oeuvres style, of course). Very well done! Looking forward to your book :) I wish I could afford some of your pieces! Just wait a few years until I graduate from law school haha...Perhaps you can do a piece on starving college students!
That's me! I'm a cheese curl girl in an hors d'oeuvres world. I bet the fancier snacks were wiping pesky orange dust off themselves before the night was out. Elitists!
He looks kind of sad, over there in his corner, and his glass is so full. I agree, the wine might be too much, and I'd hate to see a drunken cheese doodle. Great picture.
Cheese Doodle guy is a wallflower and depressed because he feels inferior to the hoity-toity hors d'oeuvres. I bet once he has a couple of those mini glasses of wine he'll forget he felt dejected and be the life of the party - at least in his own mind! I can see it now with a lamp shade on his head. Won't fish eggs and baby shrimps be aghast! But wait! What do I see... can it be...? YES!! A cheese head in disguised with apples!!! Will cheese doodle blow their cover? Oh the suspense!!!
Great job Terry! Hope you had a happy new year - even getting up at 5 am. Here's to hoping you have a very bendy year!!
I think if Mr. Cheesey would just lean back, he would look somewhat happier...Hee Hee Hee... Okay, that was bad. I admit. I am up too late for my past 48hour schedule I survived!
Wonderful work again, Terry! Told you it would be worth the wait!
Fabulous! Happy NEw Year! Haven't been here in a while, so I had to do some catching up! Great photos all around! I have been thinking of YOU as I saw these "bent People" in a commercial here in the states... have you seen it? I thought it might have been your doing!
Don't be sad, little cheese doodle! Next weekend you have that party over at Pork Rind's house! Now THEY know how to party! None of the pretentious caviar and fru fru fruits and veggies! It will be Cold Beer, Party Punch, The entire Potato Chip clan and Fritos! I heard a rumor that cocktail wiener will be making an appearance, too!!
Thanks for the comments everyone. I was away for a few days and just returned.
Cheese doodles are excellent for showing sadness, or dejectedness. I'd say that this is one of the more auto-biographical of my images.
As to caviar, the stuff shown here is the cheap stuff you can sometimes buy in supermarkets. I'd like to think of myself as a cultured person in some ways, but I can't stomach caviar at all.
As to this cheese doodle being more of a beer drinker, I'm sure that's the case. But he would have had to bring his own to this party.
Again, thanks to all for taking the time to write a few words.
I'm telling you, whenever I've had a particularly bad work week, I peruse your posts and it instantly cheers me up! "Cheese Doodle" is my new fave! Thank you and I can't wait for the book (heading over to add name to list...)
This one is great, nice job. At first I thought the cheese doodly guy was talking to the caviar guy. Once I realized what was going on in the picture, it was certainly more powerful. I think the cheese guy could be perhaps a bit more out of the way though... making it more clear that he is an outsider. Perhaps it was just me though. An excellent showing of emotion though.
I am astounded again by the colors for some reason. The picture is so rich.
I can just imagine you searching through a bag of cheese doodles trying to find the perfect sad doodle.
I'm a person who laughs at the absurdities of life, which there are many.
After four decades on Planet Earth, I feel I've finally found a way to bring into existance all of my crazy thoughts and ideas. It's been a struggle searching for a "language" that I can translate them into, so that others might appreciate my points of view. Yes, I know -blah,blah,blah! Enough about me already.
One more thing though - I do hope you enjoy your time here. Life is short, have fun!

Love it. Was it your intention for cheese doodle to look depressed? what an imagination you have.
Lonely, sad cheese doodle.
Love it!! Happy New Year
I can see where these characters brought you the challenges you alluded to in your last post. But thanks for persevering! Happy NEW YEAR!

Felt like a doodle at many a party! Love this one a lot! Best to you in 2008! Thanks for putting these little works of art together and sharing them.
Poor cheese doodle! He should be drinking a beer... vino is waaay to posh for him!

Great picture.
Do you play with your food a lot?
I always thought Cheese Doodle looked more like a white wine drinker!

Did you actually buy a can of caviar just for this, or did you just have that laying around the house?

LOVE IT!!! Hope you've had a good holiday season.
Oh my God, I love this.
And I am such a cheese doodle.
I am so going to steal this picture for my next party post, my talented friend.
Your objects are awesome. So incredibly creative.
Who knew a cheese doodle could be so poignant?
I love your pieces. They always make me happy, even when they're a little sad.
I too am the Cheese Doodle at most parties... I can feel his pain.
Brilliant, one of my favorites!!!
that's me. the little cheese puff.
man, apparently the dress code wasn't stated on the invitation. poor Cheese Doodle. showing up underdressed is quite the embarrassment. ;-)

To Sabine- Afraid I haven't seen those commercials. I don't watch a lot of TV, but I'll keep my eye out for 'em.
Thanks for thinking of me! hehe
