Prehistoric Citrus Were Very Clever Hunters

I ate three and a half bananas today while I made this image. I only had one good orange, so no vitamin C today.

I love it...what an imagination you have Terry.

That is one of your funniest; even before I noticed the disguise the clueless banana did it for me.

For those who are seeing this as a broken image, I hope it's fixed now.

Tim- I do like bananas, but yes that's a bit too many in a short time.

Punkin, Bumblevee, and Elizt- Many thanks. Glad you all enjoyed it.

Aaah, the thrill of the hunt! The banana should know that there is safety in bunches. We can obviously tell by his skin that he is not old and wise enough to remember that.

Great work as always!

Nice!

Why a white floor instead of green like grass? Or is it supposed to be low snow/ice?

I like the banana as a herd type animal, since bananas do come in bunches.

Kiwi seems like it would make a good prehistoric person...

I hope you know that bananas with clog you up. Hopefully our prehistoric citrus and you had plenty of fiber today.....

Heh, heh... love the "disguise"... poor unsuspecting banana.

I didn't see it as a disguise.

I thought it was like a "trophy" headpiece, that the hunter wears.

Anyway - always cracks me up!

I assumed they were on sand.

Very cleaver. It does have sort of a prehistoric feel. I'm not sure but I think it also reminds me of some sort of Amazonian or South Pacific Island warrior pictures I've seen in National Geographic. Weird.

hahaha I just read what I posted!!

I didn't mean I saw fruit hunting each other in NG, what I meant was the hunting with a headdress on reminded me of pics I've seen in NG. I hope I said that right this time.

On with the blather

That poor banana never had a chance with that very convincing disguise the orange was wearing...

Actually I believe there is some vitamin c in bananas...at least you won't have any leg cramps!
djn485 Australopithcitrus? Neaderorange? that is FUNNY stuff!

Came by via the FireAnt Gazette...love your stuff!

LOVE this. What I find so cool about your stuff in general is how expressive the characters are, even though they're just fruit and wire...

angela white- You're right, I've had not one leg cramp since I made this particular image.

anonymous- yes, I'm aware of the problems of eating too many bananas for most digestive systems. Doesn't bother me though (sharing too much here?), I just stay away from spicy peppers.

djn- You succeeded with names, where I failed this time. Good work!

Blather- I knew what you meant.

Thanks to everyone else too! I've got to get to work on the next one!

I'm sure you've heard it before, but I have to chime in... your work is brilliant, just brilliant! Intelligent, funny, imaginative... has depth to it as well, like the photos of the sand timers/hourglasses... just brilliant!

A friend just sent the link to your blog and I have to say I laughed out loud at almost every image on this page. What fun! You've taken playing with your food to a whole new level. This image is perfect with the banana peel. The spear was great, but the banana carcass is awesome! Congratulations on your book deal. People will SO buy it. Keep up the great whimsical work!
