Time to nominate an object! (edit- the polls are closed!)

For those who are new at this little blog, every so often I take suggestions of what objects(s) to use in an image. If you have something in mind, then mention your object first, then mention the object that someone else already named, so that we can have some sort of voting on what's popular. Warning- if you mention a whole list of things, I will only count the first on the list.

Remember that you don't have to give me ideas on what to do with the objects, that's the fun part for me! hehe

If you aren't a regular here, maybe you want to take a go through some of my older images to see if I've already used the object you were thinking of.

Some winners of past Bent Objects nominations--

Olive and a Gherkin, for "Relishing Life...and Death"

Chapstick, for "This Chap Sticks the Landing"

And candy corn, which appeared as "Halloween Candy".

The vote winner will be announced Friday morning!
Good Luck!

Perhaps you could use a glasses case, or, a little stranger, a Nerf gun bullet.

I felt so bad for the cheese doodle at the party with the fancy hors d'ouevres. I think cheese doodles should be allowed to shine in their own scene.

The Queen said...

A stick of butter lying on a butter dish under a clear plastic cover with a butter knife leaning over....to awaken her!

Tatman said...

I gotta go vulgar and vote for a tampon. The cheese doodles do seem to have a lot of potential also.

scattermish said...

i'd like to see what you could do with needles from record players (stylus).

could end up slightly costly unless you already have some/can borrow mates ones.

Terry said...

the queen- that idea is splendid, but thinking up the scene is the fun part for me. So don't do that!! ;)
(I may have to make that scene sometime though...)

Good start so far. Keep 'em coming!

Oh oh! Conversation hearts! You know, those chalky little Valentine's Day candies with words on them. I've seen them in the stores lately, and I'd love to see what you would do with them.

I'm sorry.. I couldn't get past "safety stick" lollipops. What?? Now I have to go searching one out to see what the heck somebody has done to a simple sucker stick to protect us from ouselves? Dammit is there no common sense anymore? Can human beings not even be trusted to suck on a lolly without poking out an eye or gagging on the stick when it gets sideways in their throat or what? Won't be long before they outlaw knives, forks and all other "sharps" altogether. Soon, we'll be grabbing a steak in our hands again...right back to the cave where we began.....sigh....I better start making my stash of sharp sewing things, like needles and scissors ... and hiding them out in the bush for when I move far, far away... ...

Okay... I am back. I have stayed away because I was soooo "down in the dumps" about never winning a poetry entry to win once of those little great gadgets of yours....

BUT here are my ideas...
1. BAND-AID's. Plain or child prints.
2. ICE CUBES. Square. Moon shaped. Crushed. Doesn't matter...
3. Kleenex. Boxes. Big or Small. Round or Flat.
4. Barbie Doll Heads. Barbie. Ken.
5. Do I really have to name one that wasn't mine...????

On with the blather...THANK YOU for mentioning coffee beans. I've suggested them several times in the past, but thought I'd not mention them again for fear of sounding like a broken record...but I can see the little beans now...with their little spindly wire legs. And in our shop, they are always escaping through the holes in their burlap sacks...brandishing stir sticks as swords... :-)

I second nominations for conversation hearts and circus peanuts.

I nominate martini umbrellas (which could totally be something besides an umbrella), push pins and a cork board, or tea spoons/balls, those ones made of mesh to hold loose tea leaves.

I also note, however, that I miss all of your straight wire work that wasn't so much about what objects you incorporated as what the wire itself became. I wonder if you could combine pipe-cleaners with plain wire for some sculptures?

I vote for lollipops. There's serious potential there.

For example, if you stick a red dum-dum in the microwave for a minute or so, it melts. When it rehardens, it looks like it's been shot in the head or something.
