Sickeningly Sweet

We now interrupt our normal programming for an "Aw, isn't that sweet" moment.

Awww...

It's sappy, and it's for Valentine's Day, and yet, I don't find it even remotely stomach turning OR depressing.

That's quite an achievement. Thanks! : )

Tonight I'll probably wake up shouting "STOP PLAYING WITH YOUR FOOD!"

I'll never look at Chocolate the Same again...

I would never choose to create something so sweet, but the objects make the decisions sometimes.

Thanks everyone!

And that's right- don't eat the young lovers! Their life together is all ahead of them.

Aww Office romance!!!

Now all I see is little cubicles in my chocolate box as little chocolates go about their business of satisfying my sweet tooth!

Wonderful as always!!

Heh...wrapper...now THAT is funny. Thanks anonymous. : )

next scene: terry tries to eat one of them, and the rest of the chocolates leap onto his arm. or something.

thanks melissa :D -- thats what you get from lack of sleep and too much work, your brain cracks

being from i'm not sure if americans get laura secord chocolates down there, but i had a funny visual of a lowly chocolate truffle offering flowers to the foil wrapped cameo chocolate (which is the face of laura secord)
or to something equally absurd

Melissa said...

Anonymous--it figures you're a fellow Canuck. And that is a sweet visual, but I doubt the Americans would get it. Laura Secord helped the British fend off the invading Americans in the War of 1812. While we may think that's a pretty sweet accomplishment worthy of being immortalized in chocolate, I somehow doubt our neighbours to the south would agree.

Too bad there isn't a US product based on a War of 1812 personality. A Bent Objects-style battle re-enactment would be pretty damned cool.

When I saw the box of chocolates, my first thought was I don't get it. This is what was around the corner?!? Then I realized it was just a commercial interruption. I've got to slow down and read the summary statements BEFORE I look at the pic. Makes more sense that way. lol

All the comments are a hoot. Sometimes I don't know which is funnier - the comments or the pics. You can bet I'll be using them every chance I get. My favorites are: Don't eat the young lovers! Little cubicles in the chocolate box. I'll never look at my office the same way again.

Terry will The Trail end tomorrow?

On with the blather

Oh, will you be my valentine?

Thanks for the comments all!

Do opposite attract? Sure, but sometimes similar ones do also, right?

I'm happy when the comment posters amuse each other. Takes some of the pressure off of me.

I'm afraid I've never heard of this woman who now has her face on chocolates. Maybe I'll google her. But if she fought with the redcoats, she was obviously a very bad person. hehe

And you can all be my internet valentines! aww!
Sure, we'll be internet valentines.

And a welcome to my Malaysian visitors! It's cold here. I wish I was there.

Now are you going to do "the tragic aftermath"?

Terry said...

Katie- I don't think so.

But here's a synopsis of what happened-

After a wonderful few months together, they were engaged, and subsequently were married.

A short time after their honeymoon, they decided to have children. Because they lived in a state where blood tests and such weren't mandatory before marriage, they decided to have their doctor run some lab work, to make sure everything would be ok.

It was there in the doctors' office that they were told the horrible news- Whereas He was an orange cream center, while She was a caramelly nougat. Orange and Nougat children? It just could not be.

This new knowledge hung over the two lovers like a cloud. Over time, they both knew that they must go their separate ways... and so they did...and were both eaten the following Valentines' Day.

mmmmmmmm orange nougat!!! sounds yummy *rubs belly and drools*

YEAH CANUCKS!!! (refering to canadians in general not the vancouver hockey team, but melissa if you are from there GO TEAM!)

terry didn't you say they were the same? anyway, they could have adopted a bag of M&M minis, or any other number of ways to have kids these days.
On with the blather definately needs less caffine in his life and maybe a nap. *laughs*
Definately agree that the comments posted are almost as humorous as the pictures themselves.

Cheers,

oh terry that is so depressing... why must we be so prejudiced? orange nuggets are candy too!
