The book is available for pre-order (!), and other stuff.

An oldie called "Soup or Hero?" (say it kinda fast).

This was my Blogger avatar for almost forever, until just a few months ago. I photographed it for Illustration Friday (that weeks word was Superhero) very early in this blog's life. That is our kitchen counter, the background light is from our under-cabinet mounted radio, and it's further lit by a couple of flashlights on either side.

I thought it was an apt image to post today because it shows my past work, as I announce what is coming in the future,-- the "Bent Objects" book has a date which it will be available for purchase! - October 6, 2009. It's available for pre-order on Amazon and Border's Books already, but if you are interested and have a favorite bookshop that you frequent, I do encourage you call them up, or visit them, so they can order it for you! Are there many better places to hang out than at a bookstore? Let's keep supporting them!

A bonus for you,
a travel review-

We very recently spent four and a half days in Asheville, North Carolina. I'd never been there before, and can't say that I'd heard much about it until a couple of weeks ago. Just wanted to give the place a big thumbs up. Many, many great independant restaurants to choose from- barbeque to vegan to fancy deconstructed eats. Lotsa art, crafts, and music going on too. All kinds of people there, big city transplants, plenty of bohemian dreadlocked drifter musicians, and your down to earth Carolina natives. The one movie theater downtown shows award winners from the Cannes Film Festival, which is right across the street from an old double decker bus that been smashingly converted into a coffee shop. Biltmore Estate is there too. Expensive to go, but interesting place. Huuuge. Rent the audio tour thingy if you go. And if you want to buy their wine, fine, but don't bother waiting in line for the self-guided winery "tour"- big waste of time.

Also bought some Tee-shirts from this fella. Nice guy, cool shirts.

How about a link so we can order it up?

IBerg- I was going to post a link to Amazon, but I didn't want to screw all the other places. I'm torn. I'll post some links soon, but I truly wish some real bookshops will get some business out of my little book. That would make me happy.

I know it's kind of silly, I should just want people to buy my book, period. My parents owned a little bookstore though, and I have a soft spot for all those little places.

Terry, how do I get a book with your personal message to ME penned inside?

I know you're not crassly commercial, but if you get an Amazon affiliate account and post the link to the book through that, you can eke out a couple of extra percent on each sale. I'm going to buy it off Amazon anyway (sorry!) so from my perspective you may as well...

I've placed an order for two copies at Amazon now. One for me and one as a gift. Really looking forward to see it!

Hi Moonshadow and Divaeva and others who would be interested in a signed copy! --

I'll be posting info on that subject soon. I've got a couple of different options for you to choose from.
