Stones and Chopsticks
edit-10 seconds after I posted this, I realized that I should have titled this post "Sticks and Stones". That's what I get for posting too early in the morning!
Yesterday we went to the Pompidou Museum to see a special exhibition that I've been really excited to see- "Calder, the Paris Years". It was really fantastic seeing so many of his wire pieces in person after reading about them in books.Afterward, I made these walking stick/chopstick bugs and left them outside the museum. Sort of an offering I guess. I also gave a poster to the museum's bookstore. They had a wide variety of books, so you never know, maybe they'll use it somehow, someday.

Now I have part of a Heywood Banks song stuck in my head
Ooh la la those Paris Days
Oooh la those Paris Nights
I bought myself a Paris socks
And saw some Paris sites
Ooh la la the sunshine
Ooh la that Paris Rain . . .
If I jumped into the river
Now tha would be in Seine
(somethin like that)
Keep enjoyin your trip! Wish I could go swipe those walking sticks!
Bloody Brilliant!! (You know, you do have the admin power to edit the title. Just sayin'...)
I hope these find a happy home!
Awesome offerings! I love the little rock guy. "Like a complete unknown. Like a (st)rolling stone".
I'm glad you're enjoying my country!! Have fun!
I was in Paris at the beginning of June and thought of you when I saw that exhibit at the Pompidou. Glad you got to check it out!
I love that little stone guy...I would have to call him "Mick" if I happened upon him. I hope someone finds him and loves him.
Yes, brilliant.

I have to fligh to Paris NOW! I love this stone-guy!!!
fly, sorry - I am to excited for proper English.
I wish you'd been in Paris while we were there, so I could have found one of your cuties. Yes, the Calder show, we saw it twice!
Oh, oh, oh! I've loved your work for a long time, but this little rock guy is perfection. I may just have to make a few in homage to you. Oui! Thank you Mr. Bender for making my day! :D
I hope this little stone man do not fall in the Seine... He can't float! Please take care of him!
That picture of Paris with the Eiffel Tower in the background took my breath away. I've been wanting to go there for so long, and just, have a view like that. I belong there, I can feel it in my bones.
