Some music to go with it- Miles plays some "Autumn Leaves"...

I'm thinking this was pretty difficult to actually carry out, even though it looks so airy and delicate. I really like it.

I liked this enough to come out of lurking and comment!

I like this a lot... it's so delicate and rather thought-provoking. Very nice, Terry.

Awww... so poignant, so currently relevant. I heard a piece of recently published music described as the "end credits to summer" (http://8bitcollective.com/music/coda/beach+in+the+sky/ if you're interested) and I think this picture is the visual equivalent.

Also, for using the double meaning of "leaves" without mentioning eating and shooting you win one internet.

Leaves me breathless, yep I think I am FALLing for it.

OK, so you know I was gunning for ice cream scoop, but I'm glad the survey winner was the leaves. This is so perfect!

Fantastic! Greetings from Iceland where the storm is blowing the last lonely leaves from the trees. They could also use a helping/rescueing hand.

Love it!

That is brilliant and highly imaginative. I can't even imagine how you pulled this off with such fragile structures. Ace stuff. Cheers from Norway.

As Alei was enjoying an afternoon sway in the autumn breeze, a giggle from her neighbor Hama followed by a sharp tug told her he had not forgotten the squirrel incident. But if it was her season to go, she was going to take him down with her.

Very nicely done. I'm taken by your creativity and imagination.

I love it! Autumn is my favorite!

I love the idea and the composition.

The top leaf is attached in a way leaves don't grow. They grow out of these bud places. Is it (he?) holding on after being disconnected from its branch?

I saw your books at Borders today. They had 3 of them on an easel right beside the coffee counter.

It always amazes me how you can make the most mundane objects into the most poignant pieces of art. Great work.

Dan

P.S. Please update your Really Bent Objects too! :)

Thanks!

Prints? I could.

MariaD- What are you, a botanist? ;)

Oh, hurrah! Your talent never ceases to amaze me.

Aww, this one seems sad! :( But I guess the leaf still on the tree will be joining his buddy soon enough...

By the way, I finally got a copy of your book! :) My boyfriend and I greatly enjoyed looking through it together. I think the most shocking one was the one with the little egg with the letter to his mom!

But in short, it was awesome. :D

I am a math person. We pay attention to spatial details and make up stories to make sense of things.

Great blog, Terry. I have your Hamlet peanuts printed out in our Shakespeare corner. Thanks for doing it!!!

This is genius and your description on the Neatorama blog makes it even better.

I wish this were large enough to use as my wallpaper because I want to look at it all day every day.
