I hope everyone who took part in Strangely Orange Snack Appreciation Day enjoyed themselves.
Below are a few of the standout celebrants. Luckily for me, my wife and daughter volunteered to pick the winner of the 2013 SOSAD contest. Thanks to everyone who took part!
In the "So cute it hurts" category, there's Dorota
(she happens to be quite clever, btw).
David made this homemade peach rum ice cream as one
of his SOSAD dishes. His meatball dish was scary though.
Like David, Marsha made a whole day of it. This was lunch.
Dinner looked even better, but I'm a fan of grilled cheese.
Morten, in Norway, stayed very true to the "snack"part of the acronym (and artificial color additives)
all day long. Luckily he's still alive to tell the tale.
Alyssa ran away with the evening attire portion of the program.
She is a big believer in the holiday, and has co-workers with
a good sense of humor, as well as the absurd.
For the winner though, we had to go with Dr. J Mark Thompson. He plays in the orchestra of the
Des Moines Metro Opera, and the opening performance of Romeo and Juliet coincided with SOSAD.
He and his co-conspirator Tim provided orange food and drinks for the other players during the two intermissions and after the final curtain.
He introduced the joy and strangeness of orange food to many that day.
